Home Dogs Adopted

Thankfully and with the help of many people and donations we do manage to re-home dogs. Most of our dogs go to Holland through the Myrtos Animal Project and others are adopted by individuals who help with the costs.

Below are all the dogs that Hectors House have helped to be adopted or re-homed.

Jeffy Jeffy is a neutered male dog standing approx 42cm high to the shoulder.
Jeffy has a bit of a history. He used to be owned by a shepherd and was badly treated by him, so is a bit nervous. He was adopted by some people who live here on Crete but unfortunately they have separated and Jeffy is once again up for adoption. Jeffy needs lots of TLC as he can be a bit unpredictable. He needs someone who can understand him, not overcrowd him when he is feeling scared, give him time to get his confidence back.

Jeffy has been with us since February 2011, he is approx 2 years old and looks a bit like a small Dalmatian. He gets on well with other dogs, but I doubt if he would be happy around children.

Jeffy was adopted in December 2011

He likes people and other dogs....perfect little dog for anyone living in an apartment...

She is a hunting dog/collie mix and has the most loving nature. Jenny has a cuddle for everyone passing by. She touches the heart of everyone who meets her. Sonny will be a med/large dog as he already stands 50cm to his shoulder. Sonny has lovely markings and a very sweet nature. He is fairly quiet for a puppy of his age (totally the opposite to his sister), but will gain in confidence as he grows.

Sonny was adopted in March 2012.

He told me that the pup was left outside his surgery but hoped that a friend of his was going to take it. He will only be a small/medium sized dog once fully grown.

Doc was adopted in June 2012.

Duke A friend of ours brought round a potato sack with a very bedraggled bundle of fur inside. He said he had seen some Greek men put the puppy in the sack and toss the sack into a big bin. Immediately our friend went and got the sack out of the rubbish bin and brought it round to us. What we found inside shocked us. It was a male puppy around 3 months old. He was so thin and de-hydrated and his eyes were sunken into his head.....he had given up on life. We took him to the vets where he was put on a drip for 48 hours and given antibiotics. For the first few days he would hardly eat anything and the vet did not think that he would make it, but thankfully with a lot of persuasion and TLC he began to eat, slowly at first but now his favourite thing is eating!!!
Duke was born approx Mrch 2012 and looks like a Belgian Shepherd mix so he will be a medium to large size dog when fully grown.
Happy to say that dispite his ordeal he is behaving just like a 'normal' pup. He loves people and dogs too.

Duke was adopted in July 2012
